Every time I try to pick a favorite era, I think I get it narrowed down to a specific decade and then something from another decade will catch my eye and I can't possibly choose!
My preferences start in the mid to late 18th century...

The Snowshill Collection, 1750-60 |
 |
William Williams, Deborah Hall, 1766, the Brooklyn Museum |
 |
Mary Wilkes; John Wilkes, by Johan Joseph Zoffany, 1782 |
Right on through the transition into the 19th century...
 |
Costume Parisien, Bibliotheque des Arts Decoratifs, 1802-03 |
And of course the mid 19th century as well...

And even beyond (a bit!)

So, I think it's fair to say I can't necessarily choose. Between existing garments, fashion plates, portraits, and even your own imagination...can you?
It's very difficult!
