Since we're building a whole outfit from the skin out, I'm finding it helpful to keep a visual record of patterns, fabric choices, and inspiration images. Erinn and I have been IMing each other links to sources and images for days, so I thought it'd be fun to give you guys a peek of what we've done. And, because you know I'm a sucker for link lists, here's the list of needs and sources we've compiled:
- Shirt
18th Century Shirt Pattern from NWTA.com
3.5oz handkerchief linen from Fabrics-Store.com - Trousers
Past Patterns 008 by Saundra Altman
Brown Striped Linen from Wm. Booth, Draper - Waistcoat
Man's Waistcoats Pattern, c. 1790-1815 by Kannik's Korner
5.3oz linen in "Biking Red" from Fabrics-Store.com - Round jacket
Past Patterns 041 by Saundra Altman
Forest Green wool from my own stash
This is so fantastic, I'm looking forward to seeing the end result!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm pretty excited to get started...we're still at the "gathering materials" stage but I'll be updating as we go along.
DeletePlease wait, for I just have to get me a cup of tea, settle down here and then follow this amazing project! We definately see too few men's garments and this whole wardrobe will be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!!!

Thank you! I'm excited too...I hardly ever get to do men's clothes, so I think this should be fun.
